The CD in our name stands for
"CHRONOLOGICALLY DISADVANTAGED"
Our CLUB originated December, 1997 with the efforts
of our First Wagon Master, Harvey. Harvey retired from
"active duty" January, 2003. We now have four of our
female members as "Wagon Masters" -------
Donna, Ethel, Carol and Alta. "THE DECA GALS"
Our Club is about meeting new people, going to
interesting places in our rigs, having a good time
and enjoying life. Our members drive everything
from van conversions, fifth wheels,
trucks to Class A and C motor homes.
Most of our regular trips go south as far as San Diego and
Chula Vista, east to Indio, Julian and Pahrump, north to
Pismo Beach and, if we could get to Catalina by RV, we
would go there. We generally travel the last full week
of the month leaving on Monday and coming home on Friday.
Some of us go early and some stay later. We travel mid-week
to avoid the crowds. Trips are scheduled for 10 months of the
year, avoiding July and August. We do have a picnic in July
or Aug - date and location varies. We ask for input from our
members as to possible new destinations and return to
favorite RV parks. A crowd pleaser is Pahrump in Nevada which
is usually scheduled for one week in the spring or fall.
Dues were set by the charter members at $10.00 per year,
per rig, to cover the cost of postage and other expenses.
A monthly newsletter is sent via e-mail or regular mail
by the Wagon Master in charge for the month giving details
of the pending trip plus the other trips scheduled.
The usual plan for our outing is:
Mon - Thur, Social Hour 4PM,
Tues - Potluck, Wed night - out to dinner.
Thur - Pancake Breakfast 9 AM.
This schedule is not written in stone and can be
changed if weather is a problem or if the area affords
unexpected activities.
We have members residing in Aliso Viejo, Brea, Corona,
Diamond Bar, Downey, Fallbrook, Irvine, Laguna Beach,
Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, LaHabra Heights,
Long Beach, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, Santa Ana,
Simi Valley, Sun City, Temple City, Yucca Valley,
and Missouri.
Our members get together the second Tuesday of the month
for breakfast at 8:30 AM which is announced in our
monthly newsletter.
The spirit of the group is amazing. We are mostly retired
folks which gives us the freedom of time. Some "extra"
outings are developed by individual members to various
places, not always in our rigs.
